1.Is it safe for buyers to buy from Etsy.com?
It is safe. You would be buying THROUGH Etsy from an individual seller, just like on eBay, so the safety of your credit card information would be in that seller's hands. If you use Paypal, the seller will never see your card number, only your name, email, and shipping address. If the seller accepts credit cards other than through Paypal, then you would be sending the card number directly to them and they WOULD see the info. I would definitely recommend using Paypal instead of sending your card info to the seller, even one who seems reputable from feedback. If you don't have a Paypal account, you can always pay through there as a guest.
2.Is Etsy reliable?
You may be wondering why is Etsy.com reliable? Here are some of the other advantages of Etsy are as follows to make you know that it is reliable:
Your Items are listed for 4 months at a time.
You can upload 5 photos for each listing for free
Payments through PayPal (That may actually be a con to some folks.)
There is no confusing auction. If you've tried to sell on ebay you know why this is important.
Etsy submits your store to Google and Froogle search engines. (This can lead to a lot more eyeballs than you would get at a yard sale.)
Also,it is safe enough to protect the benefits and rights of sellers and buyers.
